Who We Are In Christ

We are… people who trust in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and rest in His love and grace.

We have… been washed clean and fully forgiven through Jesus. His mercy gives us a fresh start and hope for each new day.

We are… God’s beloved sons and daughters, created to bless others, serve our neighbors, and reflect our Father’s love in everyday life.

We are… growing together into the people God created us to be. None of us has arrived. We welcome one another with patience and grace as we learn to know God more deeply and live in the assurance that He knows and loves us.

We are… part of Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC).

What We Believe

We believe in the Triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—and in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. The gospel is the good news of what God has done for us through Jesus and the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes in Him.

Jesus is at the center of our faith. He is the Word of God made flesh, through whom all things were created. Through His life, death, and resurrection, God brings about a new creation and reconciles us to Himself.

God speaks to us through His Word. His law reveals our sin and our need for His mercy. His gospel announces the forgiveness and new life we receive through Jesus Christ. Together, law and gospel reveal God’s judgment and mercy in Jesus.

The Bible guides our faith and life. We receive the Old and New Testaments as the inspired Word of God and the sole authority for what we believe, teach, and practice. The Scriptures reveal God’s saving work, centered in Jesus Christ. Through them, the Holy Spirit creates and strengthens our faith, draws us together in Christian fellowship, and equips us to serve the world.

We share the historic Christian faith. We affirm the Apostles’, Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds as faithful summaries of the Bible’s teaching.

Our teaching is rooted in the Lutheran confessions. We receive the Unaltered Augsburg Confession and Luther’s Small Catechism as faithful witnesses to God’s Word that guide our teaching and practice. We share a common faith and doctrine with churches that also accept the teachings of the Unaltered Augsburg Confession.

We also affirm the other writings in the Book of Concord—the Apology of the Augsburg Confession, the Smalcald Articles, the Treatise on the Power and Primacy of the Pope, Luther’s Large Catechism, and the Formula of Concord—as faithful explanations of the Holy Scriptures.

God calls all His people to share in His mission. Through the gospel proclaimed in Scripture and expressed in the creeds and Lutheran confessions, God creates and sustains the priesthood of all believers. Together, we are called to share the good news of Jesus and serve our neighbors with His love.
